About Debra Whelan Art

Hello, I’m Debra Whelan, a contemporary digital fine artist who enjoys combining colorful realism with an abstract twist. A traditional fine artist since early childhood, I recently decided to explore a completely new medium, one that involves using a tablet and stylus, instead of a traditional surface and paint brush. Each image is hand-painted and then printed on archival canvas when completed.

The works derive inspiration from a wide variety of intriguing subjects that tell a visual story about the world around us and speak particularly about who I am as an artist and my personal human experience. Always stimulated by the intense natural beauty of our environment, I have chosen to capture it through my unique lens for the enjoyment and healing of others!

The artwork, printed on high quality, archival Giclée canvas will enhance any setting, style or decor. Each painting possesses vivid color and clarity and arrives to you unframed and ready for matting and framing of your choice. An archival canvas is so durable, color and light-fast that it is guaranteed to last one hundred years or more, when properly cared for. Best of all, these prints are very affordable, especially for those who desire unique decorative art but do not wish to pay thousands of dollars!

Please check my online store to view the vast array of images and dimensions that are available for purchase.

Blessings and Warm Regards,
Debra

Debra Whelan Art - The Dark

From Debra

Art is a visual voice that grants me a unique opportunity to share my personal human experience. It divulges my innermost thoughts and emotions, while acting as a universal form of communication… a language that transcends all verbal and cultural barriers. I appreciate the power of art and how it cultivates a visceral emotional and spiritual response. As an admirer of color, light, shadow and design, it allows me to capture the fascination of the world God has created. And most importantly, it has been a catalyst for self-exploration and intimate healing. My moments alone, creating art have brought me intense clarity and healing which have always encouraged
me to share my story.

A quote by Thomas Merton sums up my thoughts.

He says, “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”

Nothing speaks of art more profoundly than that.
